Yvonne received her Master’s in Library Science from Florida State University and holds a CT Teaching Certification from Southern Connecticut State University, along with undergrad degrees from New York State colleges. Yvonne started her professional library career as Director of the English Language Library in Basel, Switzerland, where she lived for seven years with her husband Michael and their two children, Christopher and Ashley. She settled with her family in Newtown where she was the Library Media Specialist at Sandy Hook Elementary School before taking a position as Director of the Croton Free Library in NY. She now lives in Danbury and loves cooking, comedians, traveling, and, of course, reading! She has a special fondness for children’s literature but also loves adult books about American History and classic fiction.

Debbie Brooks
Head of Children's Services

Before taking over as Head of Children’s Services, Debbie was the Children’s Program Assistant here at the library. Debbie brings a lifelong love of learning, as well as a background in Elementary Education, most recently as a preschool teacher here in Brookfield. She is a graduate of Manhattanville College and is currently pursuing her MLIS degree from San Jose State University. Debbie is very involved in the schools and community with her husband, Mike, and their three children.

Dawn Cioffi

Dawn has lived in Brookfield for over 20 years and loves this community! A graduate of WCSU, she first worked at the library as a part-time cataloger, and is currently the Administrative Assistant. She and her husband have two children and a six-year old rescue dog named Rowan. Dawn is happiest when watching her daughter dance on the Sacred Heart University Dance ensemble, or watching her son play on the BHS basketball team. She also enjoys cooking, papercrafting, and watching sports, especially NASCAR, the LA Rams, and basketball. Her favorite genre of literature is historical fiction.

Jennifer Doyon

If she has her way, you will find Jennifer at a concert, movie, designing a website, or reading mystery or teen fiction. She also enjoys anything cat-related, watching NFL football (Go Bills!), and spending time with her friends and family. Jennifer received her Master’s Degree in Library Science from Clarion University of PA in 2003. She has also worked at libraries in Pennsylvania and New York.

Andrea Grosner
Circulation Assistant

Andrea (also known as Andie) has been a Brookfield resident for 20 years. She loves spending time with her friends and family and has two boys at Brookfield High School. Andrea also has a rescue dog named Abby. Andrea loves to watch movies, especially those “totally awesome” moves from the ’80s, and loves mystery, romance, and suspense books.

Rachel is passionate about libraries and all the great things they offer the community. She loves food, gardening, art, and travel…and reading about food, gardening, art, and travel. Her very favorite thing is doing just about anything with her husband and daughter.

Abbey has her MLIS from the University of Rhode Island and a BA in Theater Arts from WCSU. In her spare time she enjoys seeing theater, ice skating, and hanging out with her dog, Bowie. She reads mostly teen fiction, contemporary romance, and mysteries.

Karen Anne Murcott
Circulation Supervisor

Karen moved from NYC to Brookfield 39 years ago. She is married, has two daughters and two grand dogs. Karen joined the library staff in 2008. Her degree is from Queens College in elementary education, and she studied business at WCSU. Karen has volunteered with Ability Beyond Disability for over 35 years. Her favorite books can be found in the non-fiction section.

Stacey Nunes-Ranchy
Technical Services

Stacey moved to Brookfield with her husband and two children in 2009. They have since added two rescue cats to their family.  Stacey’s passions include travel, linguistics, music and reading mostly fiction.

Ruthie Quattro
Library Assistant

Ruthie enjoys reading, hiking, and taking pictures of the great outdoors. She loves spending time with her friends and family, especially her dog Foxy. Ruthie graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a BA in Communication.

She enjoys reading historical fiction and young adult novels. Some of her favorite podcasts include Gastropod, Overdue, The Boston Globe’s Love Letters, and The Sporkful.

Ken Rietschel
Circulation Assistant

Ken graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a B.A. in Political Science and a Minor in History. His favorite genre is Historical Fiction and his favorite novel is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. He has worked in public libraries since he was 18. When not working he loves to be at the beach or playing SimCity 2000.

Angelica Rodriguez
Circulation Assistant

Angelica is a recent grad from the University of New Haven with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. She is currently attending TRCC for her Library Technician Certification. Her preferred genres include History and graphic novels (picture books are for adults too!), though she has recently developed an interest in YA fantasy novels. Angelica’s hobbies include jewelry making, needle felting, baking, gem collecting and playing video games.

Michele has been working at the Brookfield Library for over ten years. On her days off, she loves to spend time with her family, paint, or relax by reading a good book on the beach.
