Yvonne received her Master’s in Library Science from Florida State University and holds a Teaching Certification from Southern Connecticut State University, with undergrad degrees from Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC and SUNY Oswego.  Yvonne started her professional library career as Director of the English Language Library in Basel, Switzerland, where she lived for seven years with her husband Michael and their two children, Christopher and Ashley.  After moving back to the states, Yvonne worked as a Library Media Specialist at Sandy Hook Elementary School before taking a position as Director of the Croton Free Library in NY.  She now lives in Danbury and loves comedians, traveling, cooking and, of course, reading!  She specializes in children’s literature but also loves adult nonfiction books about history.

Debbie wears many hats including those of Mom and our library’s Children’s Assistant. Debbie is a graduate of Manhattanville College and has lived in Brookfield for 14 years. She is very involved in the schools and community with her husband, Mike, and their three children.

Dawn has lived in Brookfield for over 20 years and loves this community! A graduate of WCSU, she first worked at the library as a part-time cataloger, and is currently the Administrative Assistant. She and her husband have two children and a six-year old rescue dog named Rowan. Dawn is happiest when watching her daughter dance on the Sacred Heart University Dance ensemble, or watching her son play on the BHS basketball team. She also enjoys cooking, papercrafting, and watching sports, especially NASCAR, the LA Rams, and basketball. Her favorite genre of literature is historical fiction.

If she has her way, you will find Jennifer at a concert, movie, designing a website, or reading mystery or teen fiction. She also enjoys anything cat-related, watching NFL football (Go Bills!), and spending time with her friends and family. Jennifer received her Master’s Degree in Library Science from Clarion University of PA in 2003. She has also worked at libraries in Pennsylvania and New York.

Sara Dyckman

Sara received her Bachelor’s Degree from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY, where she also honed her skills as a Springboard Diver. She currently lives in Danbury with her husband John, son Jack, daughter Grace, her fluffy dog Vader and energetic turtle Flash! Sara spent most of her earlier career as a Database Analyst and Market Research Analyst in the arena of survey based data collection and analysis. When not working, she enjoys boating on Candlewood Lake, watching the NFL (Go Cowboys!), reading mystery novels and spending time with her family and friends.

George has over 35 years of public library experience. He has been a member of the Danbury Area Drum Corps for 50 years. In addition to reading Robert B. Parker’s books, George enjoys working in his yard and traveling.

Karen moved from NYC to Brookfield 34 years ago. She joined the library staff in 2008. Karen’s favorite books can be found in the non-fiction section. Karen graduated from Queens College, CUNY with a degree in Elementary Education. She has volunteered with Ability Beyond Disability for over 30 years. When not in the library, Karen loves to be on, near, or in the water. She also loves walking with Oscar, her dog.

Stacey moved to Brookfield with her husband and two children in 2009. They have since added two rescue cats to their family.  Stacey’s passions include travel, linguistics, music and reading mostly fiction.

Elizabeth loves music and attending concerts. Reading is a close second, especially nonfiction–including history, biography and memoir, and adventure/exploration. She likes novels about quirky people and family relationships and psychological thrillers. She received her Master’s Degree in Library Science from Simmons College, and worked at public libraries in Massachusetts and New Hampshire before coming to Brookfield.

Mary enjoys gardening and traveling with her husband, Harold. An avid reader of books written for both children and adults, her favorite genres are historical fiction, nature journals and memoirs. She also loves cats – especially Winston, her British shorthair, and Abbi, a Maine Coon – music, and playing with her grandchildren. Mary is also a die-hard New York Mets and West Virginia University sports fan.

Ruthie enjoys reading, hiking, and taking pictures of the great outdoors. She loves spending time with her friends and family, especially her dog Foxy. When not at work, she attends Western Connecticut State University as a Communications Major.

Katherine has lived in Connecticut for almost 25 years and still misses year-round warm weather.  She enjoys playing pool on an APA league, antiquing, Red Sox games, warm beaches and spending time with her family. And, of course, she loves curling up with a cat and reading–contemporary fiction & mysteries are her favorite genres.  She received her Master’s Degree in Library Science from Southern CT State University and her undergraduate degree from California State University, Long Beach.
