Transferring Audiobooks to Portable Devices

1. Make sure you have downloaded the CD quality file (NOT radio quality) to your computer.

2. Make sure you have already opened the audiobook in Windows Media Player 9, 10, or 11 and acquired the license prior to transferring.

To acquire the license:

  • Open Windows Media Player.
  • Double click on the highlighted title.
  • Enter your NetLibrary username and password, then click on 'Log In.'
  • The license will then download and you will be prompted to play the audiobook.

3. Attach your portable device to your computer.

4. Double click on the title of the audiobook that you downloaded.

5. If using Windows Media Player 9:

  • Select 'Copy to Device or CD' from the menu on the left side of the screen.
  • Use the pull-down menu at the top right side of your screen to list 'All Music.'
  • Choose your device from the drop-down menu on the right side of the screen. Make sure the box next to the book you want to transfer is checked.
  • Click on the 'Copy' button on the top right of your screen.
If using Windows Media Player 10:
  • The file will show up on the right side of your screen. Right click on the file, select 'Add to,' then select 'Sync List.'
  • Select the 'Sync' tab at the top of the player.
  • The name of your plugged-in device should be in the right panel of the player.
  • Your audiobook should be in the Sync list on the left panel of the player. Put a check in the checkbox beside it.
  • Click on the 'Start Sync' button on the upper left of the screen.

Do not disconnect your device while the transfer is in progress. After it has completed, click on the icon with the green arrow at the bottom right corner of your screen.
