Chinese Medicine and Women's Health

Date & Time: August 19, 2014 7:00 pm

Kenneth Hoffman, the Medical Director for SOPHIA Natural Health Center in Brookfield, will present “Introduction to Chinese Medicine and Women’s Health”. This is in conjunction with Ken’s first book, Essential Remedies for Women’s Health. The book was co-authored by Ken and eleven natural health practitioners from Connecticut, and will be available for purchase and book-signing. Ken will speak about holistic approaches and natural alternatives to women’s health-related concerns such as hormone imbalances, menopause, osteoporosis, heart and breast health, weight loss, and stress.

Ken trained in Taiwan under the tutelage of a Taoist medical and qi gong master, learning the art of Chinese medical healing. He graduated from a program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine after studying Chinese Medicine, and finished his clinical internship at St. John’s Riverside Hospital. He opened SOPHIA health clinic, which does not prescribe prescriptions or drugs, twelve years ago. Registration is suggested for this free event, online or by calling the library.
